Historic Formation of Village Development Committee in Ilam

A groundbreaking milestone was achieved with the establishment of the SOYANG Imagine Initiative, marking a significant step forward in community development for the region.

Workshop Foundation

The formation process began with a comprehensive two-day orientation workshop on appreciative group management, held on August 8th and 9th. This foundational workshop was organized by the Social Mobilization Program Soyang, serving as the umbrella organization for the initiative.

The workshop was expertly facilitated by a dedicated team from Imagine Ilam, including Secretary Kishor Rijal and active members Srijana Chapagai and Krishna Kumari Baniya, who guided participants through the formation process.

Following the successful workshop, a complete leadership committee was established with the following members:

A Historic Achievement

This formation represents the first Village Development Committee-level Imagine Initiative in Ilam district. During the formation ceremony, participants expressed immense pride in their achievement, believing they may be the first VDC to establish such an initiative nationwide.

This pioneering effort demonstrates the community's commitment to grassroots development and sets a precedent for similar initiatives across the region.
